Specialty home furnishings store offering a range of unique, whimsical and functional products.

Restoration Hardware was born of frustration. The year was 1979 and our founder, Stephen Gordon, was restoring his Queen Anne Victorian house in Eureka, California. After spending endless days tracking down missing bits and pieces of authentic period hardware, lighting fixtures and finishes, Gordon found there were a lot of people with the same problems. He sensed a need in the marketplace, found his true calling in life, and opened the first Restoration Hardware store in his home in 1980.

Around every corner at Restoration Hardware, you discover something unexpected, yet pleasantly familiar, be it a rich leather chair, that satin-nickel fitting for the bath, or 464 thread count bed linens. It’s a hardware store unlike any other, filled with products linked by classic design, affordable pricing and an abundance of product information.
